A Personal Trainer Will Get You Back ON Track
Below are my lean body weight and body fat percentages after a weekend of cheating. This was my second “bad” weekend in a row. But I noticed something unusual this weekend. First, look at the two graphs, and then I will reveal what I learned.
A Discovery About Myself
Both graphs dropped, but the trend is still good.
What I learned was as follows. I knew I would cheat on Sunday, so I ate popcorn at the new Top Gun Movie. Since I had already cheated, I was sure I would feel like cheating after I got home. The movie was in the afternoon, and I stopped at Sprouts on the way home. Though I made an effort, I could not find anything that seemed “cheat worthy.” Nothing looked that good.
I then stopped at Ralphs to get some Haagen-Dazs ice cream. There was NO WAY I was going to turn down that! But when I got there nothing looked good. I did NOT feel like cheating. I was dumbfounded. This tells me that after six weeks of strict Keto, there IS a substantial change in one’s metabolism, cravings, and urges.
I had never turned down ice cream, particularly when no one was looking! Not even my personal trainer.
The lack of the craving was a big win for me.
The above weight graph has me bothered, but just a little. I do not care what I weigh in pounds, but I do care to lose body fat which the other graph demonstrates. So I will get back to strict KETO and see if we can get the weight down while maintaining muscle and lowering body fat percentage.
These last two weekends were a minor setback, but the big point is this. If you get derailed, get right back one. It is consistency that counts in the long run. Temporary setbacks and be ignored and revered.
I cannot also emphasize how good it felt not to desire more carbs after the popcorn. The usual thing for most of us is that once we are “off the diet,” anything goes. I was prepared to eat 2000 to 3000, and even 5000 calories of junk food, but I didn’t have the desire. This is a huge deal for me.
If you are going to calorie restrict to lose weight, and you HAVE to do this to lose fat, Keto seems a lot easier than eating crappy food in a calorie deficit.
Back To The Originl Idea
A personal trainer will help you get back on course if you cannot do it on your own. That’s what they are there for. Personal Trainers are a “gold mine” of knowledge, support, and help, just when you need it.
